Wilco to Headline Grand Rapids Riverfest 9.10.22

For the second year, our friends at KAXE and the City of Grand Rapids are partnering together to present the Grand Rapids Riverfest, a live music festival along the mighty Mississippi River in downtown Grand Rapids, Minnesota. This year's impressive lineup includes Wilco, Shovels and Rope, Chastity Brown and Wild Horses. Learn more about these artists below.

WILCO

A seven-time nominee and two-time Grammy winner, Chicago-based Wilco is an indie rock band formed in 1994. Having just released their 12th album, Cruel Country, Wilco will be touring all summer headlining festivals across the nation and beyond, alongside acts like Beck, The Avett Brothers, Billy Strings, Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit, Emmylou Harris and many others. Grand Rapids Riverfest on September 10 is their only Minnesota date on the tour!

Shovels and Rope - Grand Rapids Riverfest

SHOVELS AND ROPE

An American duo based in Charleston, South Carolina, Shovels and Rope bring a mix of traditional folk, country and downright rock 'n' roll. A festival favorite across the country, the band is best known for their energetic live performances. With a brand-new album out this spring, Manticore, Shovels and Rope will be sure to deliver all the goods to us on the banks of the Mississippi.

Chastity Brown - Grand Rapids Riverfest

CHASTITY BROWN

A Tennessee-raised, Minneapolis-based roots musician, Brown has been covered by NPR, Rolling Stone, Paste magazine and more, touring with the likes of the Indigo Girls and Ani DiFranco. Releasing a brand-new album this spring, Sing to the Walls, Brown will be on tour with Valerie June this summer.

Wild Horses - Grand Rapids Riverfest

WILD HORSES

A crowd favorite from last year’s festival, this up-and-coming Americana band from Grand Rapids features several local musicians: Jed and Ariana LaPlant, McKeon Hugh Roberts and JJ Snell. Wild Horses has quickly garnered a fervent and loyal fan base, filling and packing houses wherever they play. They made their debut as a band on the West Stage of Grand Rapids Riverfest last year, and will be making their main-stage debut in 2022. Keep your eyes on this band!
